We received this letter and hope you will sign this letter too.

Dear Alan,

Due in part to the continuous pressure of Burma Task Force, the Faith Coalition to Stop Genocide in Burma, and numerous other organizations striving for the cause of the Rohingya, the U.S. State Department has explicitly recognized the gravity of the crimes that have been committed in Myanmar. They have officially acknowledged the findings of the U.N. Fact Finding Mission to Myanmar, released the state department report and endorsed the claim that the crimes against the Rohingya are premeditated, and are pushing for a humane resolution of the conflict that would respect the Rohingya’s human rights.

In the State Department’s own report on the crisis, they recognized the systematic nature of the Myanmar military’s campaign of extermination, which is an important step toward an official declaration of genocide. Though it stops short of such a declaration, it is a strongly positive step in the right direction.

However, the State Department has so far failed to listen to its own report and determine that it is a genocide.

The genocide treaty obligates the signatory nations to prevent the genocide and punish those responsible for it.

For this reason, we have developed another letter to Secretary of State Pompeo.

It is because of support from conscientious individuals such as yourselves, and the forward-thinking organizations you represent, that we are able to push this agenda forward. Our last letter to Secretary Pompeo was well-received; now we are asking you to join us in the second letter to Secretary Pompeo.

Please fill out the form below which includes the letter.
